- All ballots must be submitted online. Must be 18 years or older to vote. Each e-mail ballot must include a valid, verifiable e-mail address.
- Nominees must be based in Orange County.
- Only one entry per person or e-mail address.
- Deadline to vote is 5 pm Saturday, March 23rd, 2013.
- Contest is open to U.S. residents or legal aliens only. Employees, independent contractors, motor route carriers, agents, correspondents and immediate families of The Chapel Hill News or any News & Observer company are not eligible. "Immediate families" includes spouses, parents, brothers and their spouses, sisters and their spouses, children and stepchildren and their spouses.
- Winners will be announced in a special section of The Chapel Hill News on Sunday, April 7th, 2013, and on this website.
- Entry will be deemed consent for the use of entrant's name and photo in The Chapel Hill News and in all media for advertising and/or trade purposes without compensation.
- The Chapel Hill News reserves the right to amend these rules at any time during the contest.
